Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) Microfiber 20mm (PVAMIF20) — high-strength reinforcing fiber for concrete with delivery across Estonia. Unlike polypropylene (PP) microfiber, PVA fiber controls cracking not only at the plastic stage but also in hardened concrete — through chemical bonding with the cement matrix. Tensile strength 1200 MPa and elastic modulus 35 GPa provide significant improvement in crack resistance and impact strength. Available in 150g, 600g and 900g packages. Where is PVA Microfiber 20mm used
PVA Microfiber 20mm is used where long-term crack resistance and high matrix bond strength are required. In industrial floors, parking areas and fuel stations it provides resistance to dynamic loads and chemical exposure. In basements and underground structures it reduces water permeability and improves durability. For high-performance concrete (HPC) and ECC — primary reinforcing fiber. Resistant to concrete alkaline environment and weathering. For general construction screeds and plasters consider Polypropylene (PP) Microfiber 6mm (PPMIF06) as a more cost-effective solution.
How much PVA fiber is needed per m³ of concrete
Standard dosage — 0.9–2.0 kg per 1 m³ of concrete. Calculation example: industrial floor 30 m², thickness 10 cm = 3 m³ concrete → at 0.9 kg/m³ dosage need 2.7 kg = 3 packages 900g.
